Hi Everyone! Hot boards with my artwork are back! :)
I have been putting my carpentry skills to use, and making these boards myself. (You may not know that I finished my carpentry apprenticeship out of school!).
Now I’m in Sydney, I have managed to source some beautiful camphor laurel timber slabs, from a local business.
So I have been busy getting the timber, marking them out, cutting out, and sanding these boards ready for adding my artwork!
So I wanted to have a Sale and see if anyone would like to pre-order one!
My artwork will be applied to one side of the boards, using a UV printer, with ECO-Friendly inks.
Once the artwork is printed, I will seal the boards with a natural, food safe, cutting board oil, to protect the timber and bring out the colours of the natural timber grains. Camphor laurel is a beautiful timber and it smells amazing.
I am taking pre-orders for boards in the different sizes:
20cm Diameter (200mm Diameter). Approx 25 mm thick.
30cm Diameter (300mm Diameter) Approx 25-30mm thick.
40cm Diameter (400mm Diameter) Approx 30-40mm thick,
I’ve made mock up images of each artwork on some different size boards so you can get an idea of what they’ll look like. Please note that when my artwork is printed, white won’t be printed, allowing the timber to colour to show through. This adds to the beautiful natural looking effect.
I’ve also attached photo’s of some of the hot boards that I have been making! I’m super happy with how they are turning out. Once the timber is oiled the colours will come out even more!
Please allow up to four weeks for me to produce your hot board and get it shipped. I do my best, but due to the amount of orders, and the fact I am making these boards by hand, and then printing myself, it takes time. But I hope you love your finished board when you get it! :)
Please also note that the grain of the timber is different from board to board, and due to cutting them out by hand, they are what I call organically round. I do my best to get them as perfect as I can, but they are made by human hands so there are slight imperfections.
The thickness can vary slightly as well depending on the available on the timber slabs at the time. So each board is truly unique. If you purchase more than one board, usually I will cut them out of the same slab so they should be matching! :)
